Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns
- Provide proactive tax planning and strategic consulting to clients across diverse industries
- Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor
- Collaborate with partners and managers on high-impact engagements
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a culture of excellence
- Support business development through networking and proposal writing
- Stay current on tax law changes and contribute to firm-wide knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred (or active CPA candidate)
- 2–5 years of recent public accounting experience
- Strong technical knowledge and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- A collaborative, client-first mindset

About the Role
Pivot CPAs is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support our accounting team in delivering high-quality client service. This role is ideal for someone early in their public accounting career who is eager to build a strong technical foundation, learn from experienced professionals, and grow within a collaborative firm environment.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing accounting records, assisting with tax and financial reporting engagements, and supporting senior team members across multiple client engagements. Accuracy, organization, and a willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and supporting schedules
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Support the preparation of financial statements and workpapers
- Organize and maintain client documentation within firm systems
- Respond to internal requests from tax, audit, and client accounting teams
- Identify discrepancies and escalate issues to senior accountants or managers
- Assist with client onboarding, data gathering, and workflow tracking
- Participate in training and professional development activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 2+ years of experience in public accounting or a professional accounting environment
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and GAAP
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience with QuickBooks, CCH Axcess, or similar accounting software is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Organized, dependable, and team-oriented
