Job Description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the bookkeeping staff and projects. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for clients.

The Accounting Manager supervises 4 staff accountants and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and the support of budget and forecast activities.

The Accounting Manager will report to a tax partner.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Support the on-boarding of new clients to ensure adequate support to the primary bookkeeper.
  • Onboard new employees and ensure their successful transition to the company.
  • Manage contractors/vendors as needed
  • Communicate effectively with clients
  • Organize and update the bookkeeping databases
  • Preparation and/or review of financial statements
  • Payroll Support
  • Support other areas of the company as needed to continue to develop infrastructures of the company



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or another related field, required


  • Five (5) or more years of prior work experience in public accounting, required
  • Prior supervisory experience, required


  • CPA certification, preferred


  • Strong Quickbooks knowledge, required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, preferred
  • Experience with accounting research databases, preferred

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Solid understanding and proficiency of accounting standards and reporting requirements for GAAP & Tax

Job Description
As an Audit Senior, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with supervision and review of audit staff for commercial audit and assurance engagements, while reporting to Manager and above.
  • Actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients.
  • Develop and deepen an understanding of more complex auditing and accounting concepts and apply that knowledge to our client base.
  • Actively engage with key client management to collect information, resolve audit-related problems, and make recommendations for business and process improvements.
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and/or review.
  • Perform general audit procedures and substantive work over more complex areas.
  • Establish and grow relationships within the business community.
  • Coach, train, and develop audit staff.


  • 2+ years of public accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Masters preferred.
  • Currently hold a valid CPA license or working towards obtaining a CPA license

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge and exposure to the common business and accounting issues facing companies today. Technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States (U.S. GAAP).

Job Description
As an audit staff you will have the opportunity to gain an understanding of the audit process and different businesses by working on various stages of the audit, which may include fieldwork in the areas of compliance testing, cash, accounts receivable, inventories, fixed assets, accounts payable and accruals. Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting in performing audits and review engagements
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and applying areas of GAAP
  • Providing input and suggestions to management to improve client internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Maintaining relationships with and speaking to key client personnel to obtain an understanding of business operations, processes and functions
  • Communicating with the clients’ customers, creditors, banks and related parties concerning audit issues
  • Documenting work completed by preparing workpapers


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • One to three years audit experience a plus; public accounting experience preferred
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles; knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) a plus
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and computer accounting software programs
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Either holds a current and valid certified public accountant’s license or is working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam
  • Good time management and organizational skills

Job Description
The audit internship is an opportunity that allows students to assist with and perform the responsibilities of Audit Staff, such as work paper preparation and drafting audit documents. The Audit Intern will work closely with Audit Staff to gain an understanding of the preparation needed for planning and performing audits.

Duties may include:

  • Auditing select areas of a financial statements and note disclosures
  • Work with clients’ documents; communicate with the clients
  • Work business and accounting software
  • Apply FASB and GASB accounting and reporting standards and the AICPA and GAO auditing standards
